Uncut magazine celebrates its 150th issue in November with a list of the 150 Greatest Albums of the 21st Century (so far). On the list are several Nonesuch releases, including three Wilco records, Brian Wilson's SMiLE, Ry Cooder's Chávez Ravine, Emmylou Harris's Red Dirt Girl, and Scritti Politti's White Bread, Black Beer.
Scritti Politti's "The Boom Boom Bap," off the album White Bread Black Beer, was chosen as one of the Top 100 Tracks of the Year by Pitchfork. You can now pick up an exclusive, free Scritti Politti MP3, "The Last Time I Looked," at the site now.
Green Gartside of Scritti Politti was on WNYC's Soundcheck today. Listen to the live performance and interview with John Schaefer at wnyc.org. Scritti Politti's upcoming album, White Bread Black Beer, was nominated for a Mercury prize in the UK. Other nominees include Thom Yorke and Arctic Monkeys.
